Gleneagles Golf Course is in south San Francisco in McLaren Park, between I-280 and the 101 Freeway, and is one of the more popular munis in the area. Green fees are very reasonable, but the pace of play is poor. The course is a 9 holer of no more than 2800 yards, one really long hole-a 600 yarder, and a few par 4's, otherwise and short and challenging experience. If you play 18 holes, there's different tee boxes for the second nine and in total it will play around 6,000 yards. It's routed along a hill with a good amount of elevation change, lots of side hill/uphill/downhill lies, tree lined fairways, and little in the way of bunkers. The greens are small, fast, undulating and tiered, and hard to hold. The course was designed by John Flemming in 1962, and not in a particularly nice neighborhood.
