Glen of the Downs Golf Club

The course plays similar to a links course featuring many elevated tees and excellent bunkers. True to many great golfers’ expectations, there are moments of near heartbreak and sheer delight while playing this course. The highlights include a five-tier double green which is shared by the 8th and 10th holes. Sandwiched in between is a quite superb par five - the 9th, which measures 500 yards off the back. It was designed by Peter Mc Evoy, and plays to 6,443 from the back tees. It's located about an hour south of downtown Dublin, very convenient off the N11 highway at Coolnaskeagh, then up the hill to the east. Beautiful setting in County Wicklow.
