Glacier Wood Golf Club is one of my favorite courses when I'm in this area, and is just a fabulous experience. The course has huge elevation change throughout, with elevated tees and greens, and great views. It was designed by Lawrence Packard, and the routing is combination links type open holes with parkland, tree lined and wetland bordering the fairways, on rolling terrain. If you're in the Wisconsin North Woods, this is worth the trip to play.

The staff at Glacier Wood Golf Club have done a wonderful job keeping this course groomed. The grass is always cut, the bunkers are always raked, and the greens are kept in tip top shape at all times. Every year this course becomes more mature with natural beauty. This is what really makes this course special . I love driving my cart up and down the rolling hills. I love the pursuit of trying to sink that next 10 foot snake putt on their challenging greens. And I love playing this course in the Fall. This course turns into a Autumn wonderland with all the changing colors. Signature Hole Showdown. Hole #12 During your round you will also come across one of the most unique holes in the area. #12 has an elevated tee box and you shoot out across a giant marsh to a green tucked back into the woods. Watch the video below to see my buddy and myself play this spectacular hole. Enjoy. Every time I get to hole number 12 I get excited. If you hit the green on 12 it will make your day special. Tip: When playing this hole make sure you club down. The marsh in front of the green is intimidating, but I see most players screw this hole up because they go long. The only bailout shot on this hole is to play left of the green. Otherwise you much go for the green. Hole by Hole pictures of Glacier Wood Golf Club Facilities The facilities at Glacier Wood are just another reason that we love coming here so much. The driving range is always kept it great shape and has 4 greens that you can hit at. I also like the putting green here. Make sure you hit a few putts on this practice green because it does a good job preparing you for the greens to come. When you are done with your first 9, make sure to stop in the bar to grab a brat or a hamburger. They always have food ready and it’s good! Glacier Wood also serves up a full menu. If you like beer, take a seat at their beautiful bar and enjoy a fresh tap beer from one of the local breweries. Just another reason why we love coming here to much.
