Three 18 hole championship courses here, designed by Palmer, Player, and Trevino. The Palmer Course is 7,167 yards from the tips, 74.8 course rating, and 140 slope. It seemed to be the most difficult of all three courses here with forced carries, more narrow or constricted landing zones, and a lot of bunkering. The course has a 300 foot elevation drop from its highest point down to two holes along Lake Como. The Player course is my favorite of all three courses, is 6014 yards, and 128 slope from the middle tees. A good variety of interesting holes, some open, some tight tree lined, and a number of doglegs, with the front side more challenging and scenic of the two. The Trevino Course is just over 7100 yards from the championship tees, with a 137 slope and a 74.5 course rating. The course is more heavily wooded, and requires you to fade the ball on a lot of holes...big surprise for Trevino! Water's on play on 7 holes with good bunkering throughout. All three courses are bentgrass tee to green with 5 different tee boxes, and the courses are routed around Lake Como on somewhat rolling land with woodlands, hills, deep ravines, streams and ponds. The course's conditioning and clubhouse service are top notch. Located about an hour north of Chicago's north side in a 1600 acre planned real estate development.
