Frenchman's bend is on the north side of Monroe, off US 165, routed through a newer residential development, and is the best public play golf in the immediate area. It was designed as part of the community, has a nice clubhouse, is well maintained, and is a fun course to play, not all that difficult. It was designed by Dave Marr and Jay Riviere, and from the tips can play to 6,800 yards, but with a 118 slope, and has three shorter sets of tees. It's a parkland style of layout with scattered trees lining the fairways, and a good amount of water and sand in play. It's fairly open at least on the front side, the back side is a little more narrow and can be challenging especially if the wind starts blowing and it has been raining a good bit. There are a few dog legs, some just straight holes, a descent amount of water and sand traps. , and the total distance is about 6300 yards from the About half of the par 5's and par 3's have water in play, but are a lot of fun to play, a good variety of holes that can challenging.
