Freestone Golf Course

Freestone is located on Rt. 322 between Port Matilda and State College. It's a fairly new course, in fact the back nine might have opened in late 2008, haven't been back there since June. It was designed by James Polinchok, a former associate of Jack Nicklaus, Pete Dye, and Tom Weiskopf. The course is growing in nicely, and has bentgrass from tee to green. The front nine is mostly level, routed along the valley floor with five holes bordering the Bald Eagle Creek, and plays to over 3300 yards from the back tees. Reasonably priced golf course, parkland style, interested to see how the back nine plays next year.
