The Fort Bend Country Club is southwest of Houston off the Southwest Freeway to FM 762, then north to Richmond. The course has been around since the 1950s and is a traditional style of layout with tree lined fairways, water in play on a few holes with a lake and a bayou. From the tips the course can play to a par 71, 6,346 yards with a 70.1 course rating and a 121 slope, and has three shorter sets of tees. It's a semi-private club, open to outside play, reasonably priced, generally well conditioned, and nice clubhouse facilities and restaurant. Nice old golf club, don't expect a high end club and course here.

All fairways on both nines had large areas of dead grass. Tees were also beat up badly. Greens had recently been aerated and were not sanded sufficiently, and it appeared that repaired ball marks were not recovering. Most traps were like waste areas with numerous rocks and erosion marks. On the positive side, snack bar was good, all staff were friendly and helpful, and the price was good
