Even though it's a real estate development course, you have to love this course. It's long enough at 6801 yards, and 136 slope from all the way back, and it's a unique combination of holes. It is located in a southern Jacksonville suburb of Orange Park and opened in 2000, and was designed by Bobby Weed. The front nine is open, with waste areas and wetlands with greens that you roll the ball up to. The back nine was cut through tall pine trees creating fairway corridors which seem a little confining after playing the front. Water in the form of lakes, canals, and waste areas is throughout. The greens are raised on a number of holes, and are moderately undulating and tend to be a bit slow. Worth playing, reasonably priced, and usually a good pace of play.

Fleming Island is a interesting design that has some very unique holes. Even though it is a housing development course, the golf course does not come in contact with the housing very often and the back 9 holes is almost core golf. Bobby Weed did a great job on this golf course which includes a lot of water, and is challenging, yet fair.

This course has so much potential but it is a snails pace round that tests your patience worst than a 200 person scratch and scramble. You wait 3-8+ minutes for every shot and it's really hard to develop a rythym. I was pleasantly surprised by the better than average conditions for a course with so much play. The greens were pretty good except a little slow, the fairways had very few divots and were green, and if you missed the green with your approach you generally had a soft fluffy lie in grass to chip back onto the green. The traps were also decent .
