Arthur Hills designed and built this municipally-owned course in 1998. At 6,978 yards (74.6/147 rating) this course will give you all that you can handle. Fortunately, they provide 3 alternate sets of tees for the less accomplished golfer. The land is fairly flat and not heavily forested so most of the challenge is avoiding the water. The green complexes are heavily bunkered and surrounded by mounding so a deft touch and quality short game are needed to score. Unless one is familier with the area, the course is sort of tucked away. Traveling North on I-75, exit 81 @ M-24/Lapeer Rd., take south loop to Business M-24 Pontiac (right side), ½ mile on right entrance to Taylor Rd., Turn right, 1 mile to clubhouse on left.

Played on a wet, misty day in May, 2011. While there were some wet spots, the course drained fairly well. Greens were in very nice shape and the overall conditioning was excellent. We were playing a senior tournament and pace of play was not too bad. Because the course is so difficult (we were playing the 142 slope "Gold"), there were the inevitable backups for lost balls but generally everyone was able to move along. Perhaps it is because the hazards are so difficult that you REALLY know the ball is lost and do not need to waste time looking.
