Far Oaks is on the Illinois side of St Louis, north of Fairview Heights off I-64 to Rt 159 north, or south of Collinsville off I-55, Rt 159 south. Fun golf course to play, but they're ruined the front nine by re-routing some of the holes to make room for new houses, but the back side is spectacular. From the back tees it plays to 6,926 yards, 133 slope, 72.1 course rating, and Nice blend of links style golf and parkland design on rolling and mounded fairways, always in great shape, maybe some of the best greens in the St Louis area. Good elevation change throughout the course, water and sand are plentiful. Enjoyable golf course, requires good course management. The course opened in the late 1990's and was designed by Bob Goalby with bent grass greens and Zoysia fairways, IMHO the best grass for fairways.

Golf course was in good shape, pace of play just OK. Always like to play this layout, especially the back side, rates were fair for the quality of the course, just a short drive out from St Louis
