The Falls is a resort about 75 miles west of Houston, and 100 east of San Antonio, just north of I-10 in New Ulm. From the back tees the course can play to 6765 yards, 135 slope and 72.5 course rating from the blue tees, and was designed by Jay Riviere and Dave Marr. Almost a Hill Country type golf course with hilly and sloping fairways lined with trees, good amount of bunkering, the greens are small to mid sized and somewhat perched. Nice challenge, well maintained, a little on the expensive side, and a nice getaway from either Houston or San Antonio.

If you’re willing to make what for most of us is an hour-plus drive to The Falls, you’ll be rewarded with a course that will give you a feel of the Hill Country. One benefit of the drive: you won’t encounter the crowds, especially on weekends, that you see at many Houston courses. Course was in very good shape, pace of play was 4.5 hours, rates were a little steep, but a nice experience overall.

Expensive course for being so far out of town. Very tight driving holes, and tough approaches to small, well guarded greens. Course was in great shape, don't bother playing here if you're a high handicapper, it will eat your lunch.
