Estes Park Golf Course is on the south side of Estes Park off Saint Vraine Avenue. It's an old course, been around for years, originally designed by Henry Hughes with some late redesign work by Richard Phelps. From the tips it's 6,400 yards, par 71 with a 69.0 course rating and a 121 slope. Beautiful setting at the base of the Rockies, reasonably priced, muni operation so not much in the way of clubhouse or guest services, but the rates are cheap. Tough parkland style of layout, wildlife present, especially in the late afternoons, the course gets a lot of play and is busy and slow in the summers, but a must play if you're in the area. It's at 7,000 in elevation so you get the benefit of the ball traveling about 10% further, which is alway an advantage, except when you're putting!

What an excellent course. Absolutely loved, but with a number of different challenges. The course was in excellent condition and the greens although tricky were first class. Staff was both friendly and helpful and I would recommend it to anyone.Looking forward to facing its challenges at some future stage.
