Encinitas Ranch is located north of San Diego near La Costa, just off the I-5. The course is technically a muni, owned by the city of Encinitas, but plays like an upscale daily fee course. It's located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific playing to an overall length of 6,587 yards with a slope of 127 from the championship tees. The layout has views of the Pacific views from fifteen holes. There's a couple of water hazards, 61 bunkers, and good elevation changes, and is a fun course to play with the wind always in play. The routing is around sandstone bluffs and native vegetation that weaves in and around the course, with eucalyptus and Torrey Pine trees bordering some of the fairways. It was designed by Cary Bickler in 1998. The course gets a lot of play and is slow at time, course conditioning is fair.
