Emerald Valley Golf Club is one of the better courses in the Willamette Valley, and is in fact routed along the Willamette River, It's located just south of Eugene, just off I-5, and was designed by Bob Baldock in 1996, and from the tips is 7000 yards, 130 slope. It's a parkland style course with tree lined fairways, ponds in play on 8 holes, and the River on two holes. The fairways are mostly good sized at the landing areas, and overall it's not a terribly penal course. The course has always been known for the quality of its greens, and they are in fact somewhat on the large size, generally soft, holding the approach shots well, and moderately fast. Very well maintained, and pace of play is well managed.

Yesterday I was in Creswell, Oregon as a participant in the TIMS (Turf Inspectors Marching Society) Golf Tournament. We played at the Emerald Valley Golf Club in Creswell, Oregon. My first time at that course, very nice actually. The only downer was the intermittent rain, but we managed to have a good round anyway. My group had some good shots in between the rain drops and sun breaks. I will definitely return to Emerald Valley Golf Club. The course is fair with some very challenging greens ( lots of slopes). From the "White" tees this track is almost 6200 yards. If you feel like a real challenge try the "Bronze" tees. The total yardage is 7148 and full of interesting trees to obstruct a poorly placed tee shot! The TIMS group rotates to a different Golf Course each month. They are a unique group, very friendly and a lot of fun.

The fast sliding greens , the wonderful service, and the beautiful setting makes this golf course the best in the pac northwest. The costumer service is amazing. They have enough staff to the lines moving yet are not over staffed. The cart boys, waitresses and even the pro shop members are knowledgeable and care about golf. They are polite and friendly. The golf course was in great shape, an interesting and varied layout, fun and challenging. Will definitely be driving down from Portland again to play here.
