Emerald Greens is about 15 minutes north of downtown Tampa, off Dale Mabry, north of the Airport, just south of Ehrlrich Road. There's 27 holes here, and a resort hotel, but you don't have to stay at the hotel to play the golf course. The courses were designed by Dan Maples, and are very challenging with water in play on most of the holes, and well bunkered, We enjoyed all three nines, the Cypress, Meadow, and the Pines, although we preferred the Pine and Cypress. The Pine/Cypress combination is 73.7/137; Cypress/Meadow, 73.6/141; Meadow/Pine, 72.9/140, all from the back tees with four shorter tee boxes. All three courses require good course management, some narrow landing zones, and the approaches to some of the greens don't leave much room for error. We though conditions were great, the homes and properties lining some of the golf course were a little annoying, but you come to expect it down here.

This may have been the best looking course I've ever played. Excellent course maintenance. Very challenging par 3s, steep bunkers, mounds, and rolling greens. This was my first course to play on a visit to Tampa, and had not heard of it before, but it's worth a game here.
