elleair Maui Golf Club is located in Kihei, on Maui's South Shore. 20 minutes from Kahului International Airport with views of the Pacific, Auau channel, Mt. Haleakala, Molokini, and the West Maui mountains. It was designed by Bill Newis, and from the back tees is 6800 yards, 135 slope 73.2 course rating. Fair, yet challenging course, always windy, the course used to be known as Silverwood and opened in 1987. It's one of the more reasonable priced courses on Maui, and is usually in good shape. Fair test of golf, resort like, player friendly with good sized landing areas off the tee, fairways are bounded by the lava and kiawe. On the front side, the trade winds are at your back on four of the holes, while the back has only two holes that play into the trade winds, with the final seven holes play with a helping wind or with a crosswind. The par 5's are all reachable, the par fours are a nice change of pace with fairly straightforward holes and some doglegs. There's water in play on five holes on the course. Overall, nice change of pace, they've softened up the course a bit over the years, and it's now very enjoyable.

This was a great course. The fairways were in excellent shape and the greens were near perfect and some of the hardest I've ever played.
