Nice to drive up in the country to get to this course, you really get away from the city. It's located north of Moorpark in Fillmore The course is a lot of fun to play and the rates are very reasonable for LA area courses. The back nine has a little more character, and more of a test than the front. The course is a classic old parkland designed by Bill Tucker in 1962. It plays to 6300 yards with a 117 slope, and is not as easy as it may sound. The parallel fairways give you some room off the tee without getting into real trouble, but there's also a good amount of water and sand, and the greens are small. The course is routed around a string of orange groves, and is great to play when they are blooming. Very good experience, decent conditions, and great food service in the clubhouse.

Some of the best cheeseburgers around, reason alone to drive all the way out here to play golf. The golf course is in great shape, even the fairways, which are usually suspect, the whole place is looking better than I've ever seen it. There's a couple of goofy holes, some running too close to the others, but overall a challenging and fun course to play out in the country.
