Echo Farms is on the south side of Wilmington off Carolina Beach Blvd at Independence, a few miles south of Rt 74. It's routed through a residential community on the east side of the Cape Fear River. The course was originally designed by Gene Hamm, with later redesign work by Ian Scott, giving it more of an open, links feel to it. It's really parkland in nature with scattered trees lining most of the fairways, but with plenty of room off the tee. Reasonably priced greens fees, straightforward and playable design, and conditions generally OK, not the best Wilmington has to offer, but a good option if you're on the south side of town.
