Eagle Valley is just on the northeast side of Carson City off US 50 in Centennial Park. Two 18 hole courses here, the championship course is the links-style West Course, that's routed through the foothills. It was designed by Art Snyder in the 1980's, playing to 6,851 yards from the tips, par 72, 73.5 course rating and 131 slope. The course has a lot of variety and challenge to the hole design, doglegs, both left and right, a good amount of water in play, forced carries, elevation change, and some of the landing areas are tight. The East Course is better suited for the mid and higher handicappers, beginners and families. It is very forgiving, good variety in the hole layouts, there's some longer holes, and ones that are short and easier to score on. It was also designed by Snyder in the 1970's, and plays to 6,658 yards from the back tees, with a 68.7 course rating and a 117 slope. No a whole lot of trouble, straight, open fairways, good sized greens, a good learner's course as well. Probably the best value in the value, great views out over to the Sierras, reasonably well maintained, and not a bad pace of play.

The West course is absolutely immaculate and every lie on the fairway is perfect, but you must be straight because the numerous bunkers will penalize any wayward shot severely. The weather was glorious 75 degrees, sunny and no wind which is apparently not normal around here. There are many memorable holes on this great course and the last two are a real test. I would strongly recommend playing this wonderful golf course if you ever get the chance
