Dutch Hollow is off Benson Road south of Auburn, between Owasco and Skaneateles Lakes. We always enjoy the layout here, lots of variety to the holes, some very challenging, others give you a break. There's a few small ponds, and a stream that runs through a few of the holes, the fairways are lined by trees, some thick and tight, others more open. It's always well maintained, and while on the expensive side on the weekends, is reasonably priced during the week, and later in the day. It's been around since the 1960's, designed by Wilfred Hall, and from the back tees plays to just over 6,400 yards with a 70.3 course rating and a 120 slope, par 71.

Dutch Hollow is out in the country in Owasco, across the street from a large dairy farm, nice setting. The course will keep you on your toes, more of a shot maker's course than one for the big hitter, starting with the 1st, a short par 5, 442 yards from the white tees easily reachable in two but guarded by a pond that juts three-quarters of the way across the fairway just before the green. There's more of the same throughout the course with plenty of risk reward, where long, straight shots were rewarded. Fun and challenging par 3's, five of them all good tests. The greens are push-up and crowned, and tough to hold, and tougher to get up and down. The fairways were well maintained and the rough — like at almost all courses this spring — was brush-cut thick. Fun and challenging, but fair course, nice setting out in the country and low greens fees.
