The Dunes is located on Sanibel, an island off the coast of Ft. Myers, and is an old course but re-designed by Mark McCumber and is short at 5578 yards, par 70 from the back tees. They tucked the course in a housing and wildlife preserve that the Audubon Society recognizes, with plenty of water, wetlands, and wildlife. If you haven't seen an alligator in Florida by the time you get here, it's guaranteed to see one here, in addition to osprey, herons, and bald eagles. Course management, and the approach shots to the small greens is the way to score here, leave the driver in the trunk. Nice conditions, but can get busy, and expensive in the winter season.
