Dunedin is just north of Clearwater off US 19, and is an old classic Donald Ross design at 6500 yards from the back tees, 123 slope. and was the original PGA of America's national headquarters course until 1962. Even though it's probably not entirely original with the design features, you can appreciate how courses were designed in the era of hickory shafted clubs and shorter distances off the tee. There's the small and raised greens, with deep faced bunkers to the side, parkland style with tree lined fairways, and the risk/reward dogleg opportunities. The course is convenient to most of the Tampa/St Pete area, and has some of the lower greens fees in town, usually in decent condition, and a must play for the purists.

Still moving the tees, quite a mess, you might play elsewhere till they're finished later this year.

The golf course was in good shape, and the rates were less than $40 all-in. Fun to play an old style golf course, it was a nice change of pace. You need a good short game to score well here with the small greens which are raised up a bit, and to avoid the bunkers. Pace of play was great since we played first thing in the morning. Not much in the way of clubhouse facilities, very basic overall.
