Downfield, a good parkland course, is located just outside Dundee, Scotland, 20 minutes from St Andrews. The course was designed by C.K. Cotton and opened in 1964, and plays to 6,800 yards, par 73 from the medal tees. Five par fives with good birdie opportunities may offset the potential bogies on long par threes and 6 par 4's over 400 yards! The course is pleasantly routed over rolling terrain with heavy stands of trees lining or bordering the wide fairways, playing to large, sometimes undulating greens. Excellent value, enjoyable day, although not a terribly difficult course, in good condition.
