Don Valley is owned and operated by the City of Toronto, and probably the best of the city courses. It was designed by Howard Watson in 1956, and is a par 71, 6100 yard course from the back tees. It's a parkland course in the classic sense, and in some ways you can see the architect's schooling under Stanley Thompson in a number of the design features. The course gets a lot of play, and the pace is sometimes a bit challenging, but you will enjoy the hilly, tree line routing with elevated tees and raised greens throughout, and very well landscaped. Of course, you'll experience Hallelujah Corner at 12 & 13, the 13th a 152-yard one shotter with water on the left. Conditions can suffer a bit at times due to the amount of play and stress on the course, but overall fairly well maintained.
