Discovery Bay is just south of Port Townsend, on the east side of Discovery Bay. Other than the Port Townsend Golf Club, a 9 holer, it's the only public course in the area unless you go south to Port Ludlow. The original nine holes are are supposed to be the oldest golf course in the state, opening in the 1920's, the additional nine was added in the 1990's by Mike Asmundson. Classic Northwest type golf course with tree lined fairways, over relatively flat land in a beautiful setting with views of the Olympic and Cascade mountains and Discovery Bay. The front nine has three each of par threes, fours and fives, and drivable par 4's, the back side has the views, more updated hole designs, and is a real test through the trees. There's three tees from 5,200 yards to 6,700 yards, we generally play from the White tees at 6,216, 68.1/113 and it's plenty challenging.
