130 kms northeast of Calgary, the most stunning and out of this world setting for a golf course...in the middle of North America’s premier fossil hunting ground. The course adjoins The Royal Tyrrell Museum, which houses the world’s biggest collection of dinosaur fossils. The back nine, is ultimate target golf, routed through the coulees and badlands, it reminds me of those impossible golf hole calendars. This is a one of a kind golf course, the front nine is a traditional layout which lulls you, then the back side kicks your butt with some spectacular desert/canyon type golf with forced carries across deep ravines, and major elevation changes. Number 12 is a great par three where the green sits a two-club drop down, and is surrounded by bad lands. #15 gives you a drive across this deep ravine with carry of 230 to 275 yards, and on and on through the back side. This is one course, in order to truly enjoy it, play from shorter tees than you usually play from. The course architect was Sid Puddicome in the mid-1990's, and it plays to 6,392 yards, 127 slope and a rating of 71.4 from the back tees.
