Diamondhead is on the north side of I-10 between Pass Christian and Bay St. Louis, routed through a residential community. The course has been around for a while, not one of the new casino courses, however it is affiliated with the Silver Slipper Casino. There's two 18 hole layouts, the Pines and the Cardinal. The Pines is routed through tree lined fairways with six holes with water in play, the White tees played to 6,400+ yards 71.1/132. The Cardinal has a little more character to it, routed over slightly rolling hills with four holes on the back side with water in play, and well bunkered throughout. The White tees on the Cardinal played to 6,128 yards, 71.0/131 ratings. Both courses are very challenging, not all that long from the middle tees, but requiring accuracy off the tee and on approach to have a shot at par. The course lost thousands of trees with Katrina, it's not as tight as it used to be. They also lost 300 homes, and sustained major damage to the clubhouse, but has seemed to come back nicely.
