The course was originally designed in1972 by Johnny Bulla as a parkland style course, no desert here! The city purchased it in 1999, and spent $1.2 in a renovation by architect Art Shaupeter. The course a fun, wide open at times course with a moderate amount of sand, and the fastest, truest greens around. The course can set up to 7,368 yards from the tips with a 125 slope, and is well conditioned and fun to play. Mostly straightforward golf course, challenging from the back tees, well maintained, some water, trees not really in play.
