Dell Urich, formerly Randolph is north of Davis Monthan on Alvernon, east of downtown Tucson. It's a low cost muni, usually in good condition, the only problem is the slow pace of play. Two golf courses here, but Randolph is the one to play. It's an LPGA venue when the women are in town, and formerly a PGA Tour stop at various times over the years. It is a parkland style, Billy Bell design of 7,000 yards, 128 slope from the back tees, originally opened in 1925. The course has been updated, with good bunkering, water in play on five holes, and tree lined fairways, and is mostly a straightforward layout.

A little trivia here, Randolph was the former site of the PGA Tour Joe Garagiola Tucson Open if you're old enough to remember. It's the longest course in the City of Tucson system, nice layout with tall trees, lush fairways, and a beautiful view of the mountains surrounding Tucson. Water hazards come into play on five holes. The Dell Urich (formerly Randolph South) is a shorter regulation-length course that opened in the spring of 1996. Neat course, spectacular tee shot values, as well as dramatic elevation changes.
