Deer Valley GC

Deer Valley is a 27 hole layout in central Wisconsin, 30 minutes west of Madison and on the east side of Dodgeville on Hwy 18/151 near Barneveld. The three nines are Ridge, Prairie, and Valley with the Ridge and Prairie the original routing, and the toughest combination at 6,500 yards, 72.9/129 from the back tees, Interesting, fun, and scenic golf course to play at very reasonable rates. There's a lodge for stay and play packages, but we were just passing through, it didn't look like anything special. The course was spread out over rolling farmland with scattered trees lining the fairways, little in the way of bunkers, and med-sized greens. We played all 27 holes, and enjoyed the Ridge and Prairie nines the best. Conditioning was OK, the greens were slow and bumpy, pace of play was just over 4.5 hours.
