Culbertson Hills is about 20 minutes south of Erie on I-79 in Edinboro. The layout is old style, in fact it was designed by Tom Bendelow in the 1920's, who also designed Medinah in Chicago. The course has no bunkers, but plenty of trees lining the holes, and while some holes open up, it generally costs you a stroke if you're off-line. All natural corridors bordering the holes, each hole is separate and unique, some with doglegs, but most very straightforward. The greens are on the small side, and tough to hold, so a good short game is essential here. It plays to 6,300+ yards from the white tees, 70.7/125 course and slope and plays tougher than the ratings suggest. Very convenient to I-79 if you're just passing through.
