Crystal Woods is in the northwest suburbs of Chicago in Crystal Lake, an hour from downtown Chicago, an hour east of Rockford. There's an 18 hole championship layout as well as the Craig Woods 9 hole executive style course. The main course is a parkland style of layout with tree lined fairways, some on the tight side, water in play on 5 holes, very straightforward and challenging layout, generally in good shape. Rates are on the high side on weekends, lower during the week and off-peak. The course is 6,400 yards from the tips, 69.5/115, overall good basic layout.
