Crotched Mountain is a classic New England ski and golf resort at the base of Crotchet Mountain in the New Hampshire Monadnock region about 30 minutes west of Manchester. The course is an old Donald Ross design from the 1920's, we played from the tips which were only 6,100 yards, 69.2/125, the middle tees are 5,500, the front tees 4,600 yards. The views were fantastic, and the course in great shape. Hilly and sloping fairways, the greens were postage stamps and difficult to hold. The fairways are all tree lined, and most times a good 3 metal will do off the tee, a few holes with water in play, lightly bunkered. The pro shop is small and functional, there's a great deck for a post round beer. While it is a resort with accommodations, you don't need to be a guest to play the course. Overall, very nice experience and reasonable rates.
