Crosscreek is located near Temecula, and is a very solid Arthur Hills design of 6800 yards, par 71, 142 slope from the back tees. It's located in a nice setting without houses, on rolling hills with fairways routed around creeks and large stands of trees. There's a good elevation change to the course with elevated tees, and raised greens on some of the holes. Some of the holes are more open, others somewhat constricted by the trees, and the greens are well protected, fast and hard to hold. Conditions have been fairly poor the last couple of years of playing here, it's a shame since the layout has so much potential

The weather was absolutely perfect and the course was in great shape. coming from cold and snow, i was impressed how green everything looked. to knock off some rest, i hit a few balls on the range (don't even bother buying balls since there were a ton left on the range from a tournament-you can see the range from the clubhouse). This course doesn't overwhelm you with long desert expanses to carry over. The layout is manageable. there's a mixture of bunkers, trees, and desert which make the course fun for anyone. greens were huge so it made me feel like a pro hitting greens left and right. i could see myself playing this course again.

The front nine was a good warm-up for the back, more links like through the canyons, open and free swinging off the tee, while the back narrowed up a bit, more target golf. Greens were tough to hold, and quick, The front's walkable, but forget about it on the back side.
