Crooked Creek is on the southeast side of London, routed through a residential development east of the Jackson Wilderness area, east on Conley Rd to Crooked Creek Drive. The homes along the course don't really come into play, there's plenty of room, and it's not too distracting. It was designed by Brian Silva in the early 1990's, and from the tips plays to 7,007 yards with a 73.8 course rating and 134 slope, but with three shorter sets of tees. Fun and interesting course with a lot of change in elevation over rolling hills and alongside and over creeks running through the course. Good differentiation between greens and fairways, and possible the best course I played in all of Central Kentucky. The front nine is a links-style course, which is very hilly with many fairway bunkers, while the back nine is more traditional with hardwoods lining the fairways. Greens vary from small postage stamps to large, contoured ones. The course has a well-rounded feel that keeps the golf interesting as lakes and creeks and trees keep you on your toes throughout the round. Conditioning is good, and with fairways running fast, and each has major fairway slant, incline, decline or all of the above, resulting in the need for placement and shot selection, and luck!.
