Crane's Landing is 5 minutes off I-94 at Half Day Road in Lincolnshire, about an hour north of the Loop, depending on traffic. The course is part of the Marriott Lincolnshire and is open to public play. It's routed along the low wetlands of the Des Plaines River and is subject to flooding, fairly mushy after a few days of rain. It's a George Fazio design from the early 1970's, parkland style with tree lined fairways, only two par 5's, and plays to a par of 70, 6,290 from the tips, 71.1/130. Plenty of water, narrow fairways, small greens and bunkering, it's very challenging for the average golfer. Conditions and operations have improved considerably, but the rates seem overpriced compared to other layouts in town. Look for deals on GolfNow before playing here.
