Cowan Creek Golf Club

Cowan Creek is 30 minutes north of Austin in the Georgetown area at the Sun City development off the TX 195 exit of I-35. The course is routed through the seniors community and was designed by Gary Stevenson. It's a very playable layout, wide open off the tee, a few holes with ponds, and Cowan Creek running through the course. The greens are good sized with a lot of slope and undulation, fairways bordered by mesquite and homes. The other two courses at Sun City, White Wing is tight, and while there's a little more room on Legacy Hills, it's not nearly as open and playable as Cowan Creek. Nice practice facility with a large putting green, driving range, and chipping, pitching, and sand practice areas. It's tough to get a tee times here with the amount of residents who use the course, so call ahead, or plan on playing later in the day. Well conditioned layout, reasonable rates, Cowan is definitely the best of the bunch at Sun City.
