The Country Club of Miami is on the far north side of the Miami area, off I-75 at at 186th Street, off the Palmetto Expressway at 67th Avenue. It's an old, original Miami residential community development course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in the early 1960's, and is a little tired and outdated when compared to the newer championship golf courses in the area. It's a muni, and the rates are somewhat more reasonable than other more upscale courses in the area. There's two 18 hole courses, the East which plays to 7,017 yards from the tips with a 132 slope, and the shorter and easier East Course, a 6,353-yard par-70 layout with a slope of 124. The White tees on the West are 6,024 yards, 69.2/125; the White tees on the East area 5,557 yards, 66.7/118. The course is a muni, owned and operated by the Miami-Dade Parks Dept, so conditions and facilities are very basic, which is unfortunate since the layouts have a lot of potential, and were once professional tournament venues in the 1960's.
