Country Club at Silver Springs Shores

Silver Springs Shores is southeast of Ocala off Maricamp Road. It's a private golf club, yet open for public play, and is one of the better layouts on the south side of Ocala. It was designed by Desmond Muirhead in the late 1960's, and is partially routed through a residential development, but with most holes carved through the woods. The front side's more of a parkland style of course with tree lined fairways and fairly open off the tee, while the back side is more of what you find in Florida courses with a lot of water and sand in play. Rates are a little steep, but a very well conditioned layout, nice clubhouse and facilities, and a reasonably good pace of play. Challenging course, 6,532 yards from the tips, 72.0/127 course and slope ratings.
