The Columbus Country Club has always been a private golf course, but due to the economy, is now open for public play. It's located on Military on the east side of town. It's a traditional style of layout that plays to 6,410 yards, par 72 with a 71.5 course rating and a 128 slope from the back tees. It's an old course, opened in 1923 and designed by John Frazier. The front nine is fairly straightforward, somewhat easy on the game, a good warm-up for the tougher back, tighter fairways, somewhat hilly, small greens, not a lot of sand, and no houses in play. Enjoyable golf course, difficult to get up and down to save par.

Challenging course with a assortment of challenges, particularly on the front nine. Greens are in good shape but a little slow. Traps need to have more sand. Fairways are in OK shape but there are a lot of divot scars on some of the holes. Tees are hard and somewhat sparse with the grass. No beverage cart but there is a good snack bar.
