Columbia Point is on the east side of Richland on the Columbia River right off I-182 at the Rt 240 exit on the north side. First class golf course, a bit of a links-type of feel, but with scattered trees along the fairways. Mounded and contoured fairways, a good amount of sand, and generally well maintained. It opened in the mid-1990's, designed by Jim Engh, and plays from 4,600 to 6,500 yards, the Blue tees at 6,068 yards are a good choice for the 10-15 handicapper, and play to a course rating of 68.3 with a 121 slope. Interesting holes, mostly wide open off the tee, but with sand and water to catch the wayward drive. The greens are good sized, and generally open in the front, providing room for the bump 'n run shots to keep the balls under the wind. It's a little expensive on weekends, but plenty of off-peak rates, and a break for seniors and juniors.
