The Classic is 15 minutes south of Tacoma in Spanaway. It's one of the better courses in the area open to the public and is a traditional style of course with tree lined corridors for fairways, definitely for the sub-15 handicapper. Reasonably good condition, pace of play is well maintained, plenty of sand and a few bunkers. From the Black tees, it's 6,900 yards, and a tough 145 slope, from the men's tees it's 6,000 yards, and still tough 135 slope. and designed by Bill Overdorf in the early 1990's. If you're not accurate off the tee, forget playing here or it will be a long day.

Fun course. It can be pretty tricky, especially off the tee. If you are comfortable teeing off out of a chute and you can work the ball a little, this course can be amazing. It will eat you alive if you don't hit some fairways, though.

What a challenging and awesome course! The layout and the views are as good as any other course in the area. Bring every club in the bag because you'll need them. Plays long and the tiered greens are ridiculously difficult. My only gripe is that the course was crowded today but the Rangers didn't seem to be around to help push the pace. Also, I don't remember seeing the cart girl after the 2nd hole. Overall, I'm excited to play again.
