Cinder Ridge is located 20 minutes south of Joliet on Interstate 55, is a bit of a hike from Chicagoland area, but is an interesting and challenging course. It was designed and built by the owner George Kappos, and is a par 72, 6,889 yards, with a 130 slope from the black tees and a 72.9 course rating. It was built on one of the largest strip mines in the area, but was reclaimed and now has heavily wooded areas and marshlands. There's some interesting and very challenging holes, and you're definitely on a remote and isolated tract of land, an overall good experience.
