Chippewa is southwest of Akron in Doylestown, off Great Lakes Blvd, just north of Clinton. The course has a variety of challenging golf holes winding through the hills. It was designed in 1962 by Harrison and Garbin almost every hole has a very large green which seem easy to hit but you better take a look at the flag position to avoid a lengthy putt. The front is a par 35 with 6 par 4's, 2 par 3's and a shortish par 5. You can scramble from almost any point as there is little dangers off of the fairway. From the Blue Tees - 69.1 / 109 / 6,543 yards. The back nine is a little more difficult as you really start rolling through the hills. Quite a few elevation changes. Three of the par 4's, 14, 15, and 16, better known as the "Bermuda Triangle" offer a chance to completely ruin a good round. Even the best drive could find a downhill lie on the fairway which leads to an approach over water. Chippewa is a hidden gem off the beaten path in Doylestown. It is extremely well kept offering rolling bent grass fairways. The sand was in good condition and it seems the players tend to fix their ball marks and divots. The only downside is a few power lines that run through the course, however you always get another shot from the same place due to the rules of golf. The layout itself doesn't 'seem' difficult but you could easily find yourself making more bogeys and doubles than pars.

Belmont was a great find, a real hidden gem, we were traveling through the area, and looked for a course to play on this website, and glad we found it. Very old, traditional style of layout, testing no matter which tee you play from, enjoyable, but challenging. Rates were very fair, conditions could have been a little better, but it was a fun day, and nice folks in the clubhouse.
