Cedar Rock is a private club, yet open to the public, and is definitely one of the best courses in our area. It was designed by Ellis Maples in the 1970's, and is long at 7,153 yards from the tips, we play from the White tees where it's 6,100 yards, 70.5/128 and it's all you need for a 12 handicapper. It's a beautiful, parkland style of layout over rolling hills on the east side of Lenoir on WIlkesboro Highway out in the country. It's routed through a community of upscale homes, but they aren't noticeable with all the trees lining the fairways. Rates are reasonable for the quality of the golf course, conditioning has been improving considerably since the new ownership took over. Beautiful setting, especially in the Fall, worth playing if you're in our area.
