Ceann Sibeal Golf Club is on the Western-most part of Ireland in The Kingdom, as County Kerry is known, and about 45 minutes west of Tralee on the Dingle peninsula. It's a most scenic area, in fact we found the scenery as interesting and compelling as the golf course, which is know here in its native language, outside this area, it's Dingle Golf Club. The course is routed over perfect dunes-land with slightly rolling and undulating wide open fairways. The course is a par 72, 6,696 yard course with a burn that serpentines through it, keeping you constantly on guard, but it didn't matter, was in it twice! The club was founded in 1924 and has been designed by Eddie Hackett and Chris O’Connor Jr over the years. The drive out to the course was worth as much as the course, just stunning beauty, of course like most of this area of Ireland. From the course there's great views out along the beach and toward Blasket Islands and the Atlantic Ocean.

A pleasant surprise. We playing this course and it was a pleasure. New to links courses, the wind and the layout provided a good challenge for a 13 handicap golfer. They provide excellent details on their website of the layout of the holes; wished I had used it, would have saved a few strokes. There are some uphill and blind shots that make for very difficult scoring your first time you play the course. Good mixture of holes and most of the greens left you a chance of holding the green. #10 is probably the most difficult par 3 that I have ever played. Its a little uphill, was in to the wind, and there is no visible "safe" area from the tee. I would have loved to have played there a couple of more times. The views of the ocean and mountains nearby are great. This may not be the highest rated links course in Ireland, but it is an excellent value and a great place to play.
