Built on a former 160 acre horse farm, the course was designed by John R. Williams and opened in 1991. The front nine travels through and around creeks and wetlands. The back nine is cut through a hard wood forest with a few wetland areas to navigate. At 6,472 yards (72.1/131 rating) the layout is not long but there are enough hazards to keep a golfer honest. Three alternate tees allow one to match the difficulty to one's game. Green complexes are modestly bunkered. The greens themselves are average in size and contour. Located between Ann Arbor and Livonia, take Beck road from I-96 or M-14 to 8 or 10 Mile, then Currie to Nine Mile.

This is a good name for this golf course as it's littered with wetlands and cattails, making it impossible to end up with the ball you stated with with wetlands coming into play on nearly every hole. There wasn't all that much in the way of bunkering, but the water more than made up for the lack of traps. The front nine plays more around marshland and a creek that cuts across a number of holes, while the back side is more parkland style. We found it to be a tough layout for our level of play, but not so tough we wouldn't be back. Nice mix of holes, doglegs, parkland, wetlands, short holes, long holes, and it's really a placement course off the tee if you want to score well. The course was in great shape and the grounds crew does a great job of managing the marsh and cattails. The layout is challenging yet fair, and the price is great.
