Castleisland Golf Club is a new parkland course in the Southwest, in Co Kerry, about 30 minutes west of Tralee. We played it on the way to Tralee on our first day over, just as a warm up course. It's a parkland style of layout through the trees, a nice break from the links courses and a good first day course, but in our minds didn't compare to the quality of interest of the links courses on the west coast. The setting is scenic, the course is fair and mostly open off the tee, from the green tees for me it measures, 5,437 m, and was designed by Dr. Arthur Spring. Reasonably priced greens fees are the basic advantage here.
