The golf course at Carroll Valley is in a beautiful setting surrounded by mountains which are ski areas in the winter. It's located southwest of Gettysburg on the way to Waynesboro. There's water in play on half the holes, and for the most part, it's a course management drill to get around here with a decent score. Tough course if you spray the ball, not all that long at 6688 yards, 128 slope from the back tees, par 71, designed by Ault Clark. There's 6 par 3's and 5 par 5's, parkland style of layout, mostly flat, and very well maintained. They have a hotel and conference center here, but you don't have to stay here to play the course. A nice little find, not far out of DC or Harrisburg.

Carroll Valley was a fun and scenic golf course to play. It's routed at the base of the Catoctin Mountains, and is one challenging mountain style of course. Was in good condition, we stayed over for a couple of days and played 36 a day in the heat! Fair rates, especially on the re-play, and and enjoyable time.
