Carolina National is midway between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach in Bolivia, near the intersection of US 17 and SC 211. There's 27 holes here, routed through a residential development with tree lined fairways bordered by wetlands and marshes, designed by Fred Couples. Some of the holes are more open and linkstyle, other tight with trees in play. It's routed along the marshes of the Lockwood Folly River and lowlands, and is a Audubon-Certified Sanctuary, so there's plenty of wildlife and very scenic. The Egret/Heron plays to 7017 yards, 138 slope; the Heron/Ibis, 6961 yards, 140 slope; and the Ibis/Egret, 6944 yards, 136 slope. Bring a lot of balls and your best course management, you will need both!

Carolina National was really nice also although the greens were a little bumpy due to the greens being really soft. I had a few balls plug on me. Fairways were excellent along with the rough which I spent the entire front nine(Heron) playing out of. Greens were slow but were nice enough not to complain about. I enjoyed their yardage book for a dollar really helped out with your tee shots to avoid trouble areas being that I have never played there and alot of the landing areas are somewhat blind to you on the green.
